Old Post Office Theatre Gets Stamp of Approval

Plans to turn an old post office into a brand new small scale theatre & performance space in Staffordshire, gets stamp of approval.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A brand new small scale theatre with big ambitions is launching this year inside a disused old post office in Burslem, and the organisers are now inviting small scale theatre companies, theatre makers, workshop leaders and community arts practitioners to feature as part of the theatres first season later this year.

The Old Post Office Theatre as it will be called, is based in Wedgewood Street, Burslem, and plans to open every day of the week, with a packed programme of professional and amateur theatre and performing arts.

Ian Moore, who is masterminding the new venture said: “The Burslem venue in Stoke-on-Trent hopes to provide the region with a multi functional space that doesn’t cost the earth, somewhere local performers can try out new things, develop their craft and where professionals can offer a service to the community, classes and workshops of any nature would be most welcome.”

Ian has been involved in theatre for more than 40 years and hopes the plans will support Stoke-on-Trent’s bid for City of Culture 2021 status.

The space is flexible open plan, giving a level of intimacy that an audience or visitor to an event will love.

The Old Post Office has a stage, movable seating, a sound rig, lighting rig, and making it suitable for all kinds of performances performances.  the venue has a capacity of between ninety and two hundred.  It can be used for a variety of different things too , such as theatre, music, dance, workshops, classes, rehearsals ; the possibilities are endless.

Plus it has a fully licensed bar serving drinks, snacks and confectionary

The first season which will run late-June to September 2017.
