So it is more than excellent to see that Staffordshire Libraries<\/strong> and Newcastle Under Lyme Library<\/strong> are supporting professional new theatre writing, and will be hosting Lightning under their Skirts\u00a0<\/a> a brand new play on 17 May 2017 written by former Cheshire Poet Laureate JOY WINKLER.<\/strong><\/p>\n It’s 1961. Gary wants to borrow a few bob off his sister Sandy to go dancing at the Town Baths.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n He wants her to iron his trousers because no one pits a crease in them like she does.<\/p>\n He wants Keith\u2019s bird as well \u2013 and that’s where the trouble starts.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n Produced in association with the brilliant Action Transport Theatre<\/a> <\/strong>and directed by Kevin Dyer<\/strong> (who himself wrote the brilliant The Iranian Feast<\/strong>) this beautiful and funny new play promises to be full of secrets and poetry, and all about the monochrome 1950\u2019s being shoved aside and replaced by a bright new world.<\/p>\n The show is performed by Winkler, along with Josie Cerise<\/strong> ( ‘Grandpa in my Pocket’ on CBeebies) and Harvey Robinson.<\/strong><\/p>\n Tickets are only \u00a37 !!!! – (we will say that again, \u00a37 for a brand new professional play !!!!
