[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Six bawdy Canterbury Tales<\/strong> written some 600 years ago get retold in riotous fashion in Staffordshire by a modern medieval travelling theatre, packed with colourful characters and strange situations. and laughs a-plenty!<\/p>\n ‘The finest body of English writing before Shakespeare.’ The Guardian<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n Presented by Blast From the Past Theatre Company<\/strong>, and taking visual inspiration from\u00a0medieval mystery plays, complete with a touring set which has been specially constructed to resemble a medieval travelling theatre, the three-man cast\u00a0use drama, storytelling and song to paint a sumptuous\u00a0picture of life in the Middle Ages.<\/p>\n Written in the late 14th century, Geoffrey Chaucer\u2019s<\/em> \u2018The Canterbury Tales\u2018<\/strong> is the high-water mark of medieval English literature, and a travelling troupe of\u00a0players stop off at Salt Village Hall<\/strong> this autumn to weave their saucy tales.<\/p>\n ‘Bawdy, Funny, Rude, Original, with Bottoms!’.
